16 bovine animals rescued, smuggler arrested

UDHAMPUR, Sept 19: Udhampur Police under the overall supervision of SSP Udhampur Dr. Vinod Kumar foiled a bovine smuggling bid under the jurisdiction of Police Station Majalta where 16 bovines were rescued which were being transported to Kashmir valley.
Police party of Police Station Majalta headed by Inspector Rakesh Kumar SHO Police Station Majalta under the supervision of Vishal Manhas SDPO Ramnagar while performing routine naka checking at Manwal check point signaled to stop one vehicles bearing registration number JK03E-5451 for checking purpose.
On physical checking of the vehicle, a police team found 16 bovines loaded in the vehicle without any valid permission.
Thereafter all the 16 bovines were rescued and one bovine smuggler namely Yaqoob son of Roshan Din of Balotha Tehsil and District Chamba State (HP) was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, case FIR no. 77/023 Usec 188 IPC, PCA act got registered at Police station Majalta.
