151 cases settled in Poonch Lok Adalat

POONCH, Sept 26: Lok Adalat was held under the supervision of Supreme Court and High Court of J&K in district Court Poonch, in which Judicial officers, Bar members, Bank employees, litigants and general public participated.
A total number of 200 cases were taken up in today’s Lok Adalat including civil, criminal, MACT, Bank recovery, Pre-Litigation and other cases. Out of these 151 cases were settled by all the above mentioned benches by way of Mediation, Conciliation and compromise.
In 21 criminal cases, 20 civil cases were also decided and total amount of Rs 2065950 was settled.
Starting Lok Adalat, Chairman DLSA Poonch, Ashok Kumar Shavan (Pr. Distt. & Session Judge) Poonch highlighted the positive aspects of Lok Adalat and described it as the need of the hour and stressed upon general public to come forward to take benefit of these Lok Adalat.
At district headquarter, four benches were constituted. First bench was presided by Ashok Kumar Shavan Chairman DLSA (Pr. Distt & Sessions Judge) Poonch, Second Bench was presided by Madan Lal CJM (Chairman TLSC Poonch), Third Bench by Sarfraz Nawaz, Special Mobile Magistrate Poonch while, Fourth Bench was presided by Tabraiz Ahmed, Mobile Magistrate (T) Poonch.
At Surankote, bench was presided by Manzoor Ahmed Khan, Chairman TLSC Surankote, while Mendhar bench was presided by Shazia Choudhary, Chairman TLSC (JMIC) Mendhar.
