JAMMU, Mar 14: The sleuths of Excise Department recovered 1500 litres illicit liquor and destroyed it.
As per official sources, under the supervision of Excise Commissioner, T Angchuk and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Mohammed Shahid Saleem, the sleuths of Excise Team Kathua under the command of ETO, Sandeep Gupta and ETO, Suresh Sharma raided Parsochak and Kundechak areas of Kathua district.
More than 750 litres and 12 bottles of illicit liquor totaling 1500 litres were recovered and destroyed by the team.
Meanwhile, Excise Team Udhampur laid a surprise naka on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and in the process a fine of Rs 9020 was recovered from defaulters. A bid to smuggle willow clefts was also thwarted by the Excise team.
