146.34 Km sewerage pipe line laid with an expenditure of Rs 78 crore

Jammu, July 31: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, today reviewed various prestigious projects being executed by Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA).
Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Priya Sethi, MLA, Rajesh Gupta, CEO Economic Reconstruction Agency, ERA, Vinod Sharma, VC JDA Mubharkh Singh besides senior officers of various departments and executing agencies were present in the meeting
The Deputy Chief Minister had a detailed review of physical and financial progress on various ERA projects including  Bikram Chowk Flyover, 30 MLD Sewerage Treatment Plant, construction of OHTs and replacement of worn-out PHE pipes, Multi-Level Parking besides sewerage and drainage works.  He exhorted upon the executing agencies to strictly adhere to fixed timelines and monitor the pace of work on regular basis.
The meeting was informed that the work on Ranbir Collector Trunk Sewer is going on in full swing for commissioning  by March 17 besides,  the 146.34 Km sewerage pipe line has been laid in Bakshi Nagar, Top Sherkhania, Paloura, Janipur, Shiv Nagar, Bhavani Nagar and Shakti Nagar with an expenditure of Rs 78 crore.
Besides, the construction work of semi automatic parking at Super bazaar  has been  started with an  estimated  cost of Rs 50.31 crore. This multi-level car parking facility will accommodate 352 vehicles and 164 two-wheelers in eight modules and is expected to be completed within the next 12 months.  The construction work on STP of 30 MLD capacity based on aerobic attached growth moving bed bio-rector technology will be  completed by December 16.
It was further informed in the meeting that the Bikram Chowk-Gandhi Nagar flyover project is likely to be completed by December 16 as 70 percent progress has been made with an expenditure of Rs 44.20 crore. Besides, 73 Km pipeline has been laid down with an expenditure of Rs 30 crore for restoration of water supply network in identified areas of Jammu city. Likewise, drainage work at Airport expansion has also been started.
Besides, channelization of existing primary drains and construction of new secondary drains in Channi Himmat are expected to be completed by December 16. An expenditure of Rs 87.08 crore has been incurred on channelization of storm water drains in Digyana and Gangyal, the work on which is near completion.
The meeting also had detailed deliberation on construction of ten overhead tanks, replacement of worn out pipe lines, laying of new pipeline network, laying of metro railway line etc.
Later, the Deputy Chief Minister along with Priya Sethi and Rajesh Gupta   inspected several ongoing projects of ERA in the city and directed the officers to speed up pace of work on these project for timely completion.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the  concerned agencies to prepare a comprehensive plan for renovation of Pahari Mohalla Nallah.
Dr Nirmal Singh also asked the officers to draft a proposal for further extension of Bikram chowk flyover and also for BC Road Flyover.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the VC JDA for ensuring proper channelization of nallahs and plantation along the nallahs as well so that the land is not encroached upon.
