JAMMU, Apr 5: In a drive against illicit liquor distillation, Excise Team Kathua, under the command of Excise and Taxation Officer, Kathua Excise Range, Sandeep Gupta, today raided Upper Saktachak, Kokhyal, Chakdrabkhan and other adjoining areas of Kathua district.
Similar raids were conducted by Eradication Wing Jammu in coordination with Excise Team City South Range, Jammu in Bishnah area under the command of ETO, Suresh Sharma. The areas raided are Deoli, Makhanpur, Kotheybulanda, Lalyana, Shiekhpura, Shibuchak, Kotla. Kriemanhasa and Rehal.
In the process, more than 1400 kilograms of lahan, one working still and 10 bottles of illicit liquor made from lahan, which is highly injurious to health, were recovered and destroyed by the raiding teams on spot.
