14 hurt as Tata Magic skids

POONCH, Apr 15: At least 14 persons were injured, one of them seriously after a Tata Magic vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge  in Degwar area of  district Poonch this evening.
A police spokesman said that the mishap took place when the vehicle bearing registration No. JK12/3230 was on way to Degwar from Poonch city. It was over loaded.  When it reached  near Jagathana, the driver lost control and the vehicle landed into a gorge. 14 persons including driver were injured.
Locals of the area rushed to the spot and police also arrived there. The injured persons were shifted to Poonch hospital where seriously injured Kasturi Lal, resident of Degwar village was  referred to GMC hospital, Jammu.
Thirteen other injured admitted to District Hospital, Poonch are identified as Vishal Sharma from Degwar, Gulab Khan from Degwar, Rashida Bi, Shamim Akhtar, Majida Bi, Shenaz Bi, Muneer Hussain and Suresh Kumar (Dvr)from Bagial Dhara, Mohd Liaqat, Diler Ahmed and Jamila Bi from Degwar. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, one Shamim Akhtar, wife of Sarfraz Ahmed, resident of Thandi Kassi in Rajouri was seriously injured after she was hit by a motor-cycle in the same area  of Rajouri this evening. The woman with serious head injuries has been shifted to GMC, Jammu. The police arrested the bike rider namely Abdul Rehman of Gambir Muglan and registered a case.
