UDHAMPUR, Nov 28: Police today rescued 13 bovine animals, which were being smuggled to Kashmir Valley.
According to SSP Udhampur Anil Magotra, a Police party led by SHO Kud Raghubir Singh intercepted a truck bearing registration number HR58A-3803 during a naka on the National Highway in the wee hours today. During through search of the truck, 13 bovine animals were found packed inside the vehicle. Police rescued these animals and arrested the truck driver, identified as Mohd Yousuf of Jaria Kathua.
Truck used for the smuggling was also seized and a case has been registered in this connection at Kud Police Station.
