JAMMU, Oct 17: Akhnoor Police today rescued 12 bovine animals which were being transported illegally to Kashmir for selling purpose.
“During naka checking at Chowki Choura, a team of Police Post Chowki Choura rescued 12 bovines from a vehicle bearing registration number JK02BH-0467 which was on its way from Jammu towards Rajouri,” a police spokesman said.
He said a case FIR under relevant sections was registered in this connection at Police Station Akhnoor and the accused identified as Surjeet Kumar son of Satpal, resident of Tanda (tehsil RS Pura) arrested.
Further investigation of the case was going on, the spokesman added.
