JAMMU, May 2: Committee for Fixation of Fee Structure (FFC) of the Private Educational Institutions, Jammu has initiated action against 11 leading schools of Jammu for charging heavy fee.
These schools include Delhi Public School, G. D. Goenka School, K. C. Public School, K. C. International School, K. C. Gurukul School, Heritage School, Jodhamal Public School, Banyan International School, Presentation Convent School and MHAC Nagbani School.
FFC has received complaints that these schools have increased fees exorbitantly and in violation of the directions of the High Court without proper permission as such the Committee has issued notices to these schools to explain their position.
Management of these schools who attended the Committee office at Jammu have been asked to maintain the fees structure of August 2014 as directed by the Division Bench of the High Court. The schools have also been asked to strictly comply with Government Order issued under SRO: 98 of 2016 dated 24-3-2016. The schools have been directed to reduce their fee structure wherever arbitrary increase in the fees has been made.
Representatives of Delhi Public School, Jammu have stated before the Chairman that the school will abide by the decisions of the court. Meanwhile, acting on a complaint filed by about 8 parents against G.D. Goneka School, Jammu the FFC has directed the management of school to submit the record of fee structure of 2014.
Students of all schools and their parents have been asked to pay fee to the school establishments only according to the pattern as was applicable in August, 2014 and shall feel free to report to the Committee for Fixation of fee structure if any school is violating the High Court directions.
The committee is likely to issue notices to more schools of Jammu for violating High Court directions.
