KATRA, Jan 1: A meeting of Udhampur District Indian Style Wrestling Association was held under the chairmanship of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma, here today.
The meeting decided that Udhampur Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council will conduct 10th Udhampur District Indian Style Wrestling Championship on January 4, 2015 at Peer Baba Akhara Roun-Domail.
Prominent among others present in the meeting were president Udhampur District Indian Style Wrestling Association, Virender Sharma, chairman Dharam Singh Numberdar, general secretary, Om Parkash Verma, treasurer Satish Kumar, chairman Technical Committee Vijay Singh (Viju), Deepak Anand, Pankaj Sadhotra, Rajinder Kumar (Sonu), Tulinder Kumar, Laxhman Singh Katoch, Yash Paul Singh and Lochan Singh.
The weight in of the wrestlers will start at 10.30 am sharp at Peer Baba Akhara Roun-Domail.
The Association has advised the wrestlers to reach in time and bring their Jangia (Red & Blue) for the said com0petition.
The TA/DA will be borne by the Udhampur District Indian Style Wrestling Association.
Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma informed that the competition will be held in the six weight categories of 55 kg, 61kg, 67kg, 75 kg, 85 kg and 85 kg up to 120Kg as per latest norms of the Indian Style Wrestling Association of India (National Body). He said that certificates and medals will also be awarded to the wrestlers.
The selected wrestlers will also participate in the coming Senior State Indian Style Wrestling Championship to be held at Jammu.
