Srinagar, Jan 14: Ten new ventilators are being installed at Valley’s lone pediatric hospital, GB Pant here in Sonwar area.
“It is a proud moment to announce that 10 new Ventilators are being installed in the GB Pant/Children Hospital, taking the total number of ventilators to 21,” said the Hospital’s Medical Superintendent in a statement.
He said in addition to this, the hospital has 11 numbers of CPAP Non-Invasive Ventilators along with 6 Airvo Highflow Systems. “The ventilators have been sanctioned under the PMRP (Prime Minister’s Relief Package) through the Union Ministry of Home Affairs,” he said.
He said that the hospital is first time getting a licensed blood bank along with high-end machinery and equipment. Also specialties including Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Haematology and Opthalmology have been established in the hospital, he said. “Further Paediatric Dentistry is being introduced very soon,” the top official informed.
The Neonatal Deaths in the hospital have fallen to all time low of 14 which is the lowest in the past 11years of establishment of the hospital, said the MS.
“All steps are being taken to ensure delivery of high quality healthcare in the hospital by raising the standards of hygiene and sanitation along with upgradation of infrastructure and manpower,” he added.
