JAMMU: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today convened a high level meeting to review the functioning of the department and status of issuance of ration cards across the state.
Interacting with Deputy Commissions (DCs) of all districts through video-conferencing, the Minister sought details regarding the issuance of ration cards.
The Minister asked the Deputy Commissioners of the respective districts to monitor and ensure that the process of ration card issuance is completed in an organized and hassle free manner.
The Minister directed the concerned officials to freeze the ration card data and link the ration cards with Aadhaar at the earliest.
The Minister also directed the officers to provide ration to nomadic population for six months at their respective places where they are staying for a particular season.
The Minister appreciated the efforts of the department for their dedicated services and expressed hope that they will continue to perform upto the expectations of the people.
The meeting was attended by all the Deputy Commissioners, Director FCS&CA Jammu G S Chib, Director FCS&CA Kashmir Tasaduq Jeelani and other senior officers of the department.
