Zulfkar expresses anguish over slow pace of work on water supply schemes

JAMMU, Oct 17: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Information, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali convened a meeting with engineers of PHE Department and reviewed the status of various water supply schemes being executed in Rajouri district.
The meeting was attended by MLC Nowshera Surinder Choudhary besides Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri Dr Shahid Iqbal, Chief Engineer PHE Ashok Gandotra and other engineers of PHE Department.
Expressing anguish over the slow pace of work on various water supply schemes in Darhal constituency, the Minister directed the department to take corrective measures.  He asked the CE to appoint Junior Engineers wherever posts are vacant to improve the field activities and fast pace the infrastructure development.
The Minister directed the district administration and PHE Department to explore the possibility of installing hand pumps in water stressed areas by dovetailing different schemes.
