Zulfkar directs for checking discrepancy in electricity bills

RAJOURI, Aug 30: Minister for CA&PD and Tribal Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has instructed Deputy Commissioner to get the problem of discrepancy of electric bills rectified on fast track basis.
Minister was chairing review meeting of PDD, PHE, Education, Health and R&B sectors.
Taking a cognizance of the complaints of the people regarding the discrepancies in the electric bills, the Minister directed Deputy Commissioner to hold fast track inquiry into the complaints of double and extra electricity bills. He said that people have showed resentment on the unexpected bills of electricity and there is need of in-depth inter-departmental inquiry and issued instructions to get it checked at village level by involving Sarpanches and Village Level Workers in order to rectify the problem.
Reviewing education sector, Minister said that it is on high priority of the Government and it is the endeavor to ensure that there is a marked improvement in it. He instructed the officers to ensure punctuality of teachers in the schools.
Minister also directed Deputy Commissioner to get postings of newly appointed teachers modified within 15 days and depute teachers on priority to the areas which are facing acute shortage of the teaching staff.
He said that Mogla, Khawas and Peeri educational zone are worst affected due to acute shortage of teachers and such areas must be given priority in adjustment of new teachers. He also directed to depute one officer of any department on weekly rotation to check the functioning of these schools. He also directed to get tour diaries of these officers prepared every week, so that some sort of change could be made in this department in rural areas.
On the scholarship issue of Scheduled Tribe students, Minister said that a certificate from Headmaster or Principal is enough to check the category status of students. He said that scholarship disbursement should be transparent and all scholarship must be disbursed well in time.
Regarding construction of Maternity Child Hospital, Minister issued instruction to department to take up the matter with J&K Housing Board so that the work on this building is initiated without any delay. He also issued instruction for preparing Master Plan for CHC Kandi to make it a Model Hospital.
Minister instructed CMO to depute doctors in Swari and Nadian area where no doctor is available to treat patients and also asked Health Department to take over OPD Block building from JKPCC and make it operational as early as possible.
While expressing concern over delay in construction of roads under BRO sector, the Minister instructed concerned officers to expedite work on all defense roads.
Minster was briefed about the status of Rajouri Kotranka Road and Reasi-Rajouri and Rajouri- Poonch road. He instructed GREF officials to accelerate pace of work on Rajouri Budhal Road and also complete 11 KM stretch of Rajouri Thanamandi road before October.
