Zulfkar for collective efforts to weed out social evils

RAJOURI, Apr 13: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today called for collective efforts for weeding out social evils from the society.
The Minister was speaking at a function to mark Rajouri Day celebration organized by NGO Sangarsh.
Zulfkar said that Rajouri Day is celebrated as a day of sacrifices for the country and it is important to pass on this message to the younger generation.
Asking the people to join hands for making the district a better place to live, the Minister stressed that only joint efforts of all sections of society will help realize dream of a peaceful society.
Highlighting the role of youth in the society, the Minister said that they can prove pivotal in eradication of all social evils and in the creation of an atmosphere of discipline.
“Boys and girls could play effective role in reforming the society and help in creating awareness about saving electricity, water sources, demerits and abuses of alcoholism and drugs and encourage inculcation of moral values,” he said.
He also said need of the hour is to involve social and religious organizations to promote the moral values and rich composite culture of Jammu and Kashmir to make the society more tolerable and sustainable.
Zulfkar said that Rajouri and Poonch is known as land of Sufis and it is high time to make concerted efforts to launch a decisive fight against social evils.
Earlier, Zulfkar visited the medical college site in Darhal constituency where in officers apprised him about the progress of work.
