Zinc futures remain up on strong demand

NEW DELHI, Jan 25: Zinc prices advanced 0.48 per cent to Rs 220.70 per kg in futures trade today after speculators raised bets, taking positive cues from the spot market on rising demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in February edged up by Rs 1.05, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 220.70 per kg in a business turnover of 221 lots.
In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in January contracts was up by Re 1, or 0.45 per cent, to Rs 221.50 per kg in 1,506 lots.
Marketmen said widening of positions by participants on the back of rising demand from consuming industries in the domestic spot market, kept zinc futures higher. (PTI)
