Zinc futures remain up on rising demand

NEW DELHI, July 3: Zinc prices advanced by 0.43 per cent to Rs 197 per kg in futures market today as speculators engaged in building up of positions on the back of soaring demand from consuming industries at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in August edged up by 85 paise, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 197 per kg in a business turnover of 35 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in July traded higher by 75 paise, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 197.10 per kg in 644 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by participants following pick-up in demand from consuming industries in the physical markets, mainly kept zinc prices higher at futures trade. (PTI)
