‘Yuvtarang’ 2018 concludes

JAMMU, Feb 24: Yuvtarang 2018, the Maiden Mega Cultural /Literary Contest organized by the Office of Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu concluded today at GCW Gandhi Nagar, Constituent College of Cluster University of here today.
Prof Amitabh Mattoo, Advisor to Chief Minister, J&K was the chief guest on the occasion.
Prof Mattoo appreciated the relentless efforts of the University under the leadership of Prof Anju Bhasin towards achieving commendable benchmarks.
He extended his unyielding support to the University for churning out eminent researchers and dynamic entrepreneurs and also motivated the youth to channelize their energy and talent so as to become productive and progressive citizens of tomorrow.
The students from the five constituent colleges of Cluj; GCW Gandhi Nagar, Govt. MAM College, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Govt. College of Education Jammu and GGM Science College participated in the thirty one events spread into three categories of KalAnjali (Performing Arts) covering Natak (Theatre), Nritya (Dance), Gayan, Vadan (Music), San Rachna (Creative Arts) and Saahityam (Literati).

A Cultural bonanza of dance and music was presented by the students which included Mime by GGM Science College, One Act Play and creative dance by GCW Gandhi Nagar and Classical Dance and mono acting by Govt SPMR College of Commerce.
Overall best Institutional trophy was bagged by GCW Gandhi Nagar in Natak, Gayan Vaadan and Govt MAM College  in San Rachna.
Best individual performers in different activities were also awarded. Best Abhineta- Priya Sharma of GCW Gandhi Nagar, Nrityakar- Sushmita Banerjee and Komal Singh of GCW Gandhi Nagar, Best Sangeetkar- Sushmita Banerjee of GCW Gandhi Nagar, Best Rachna Kar- Ankit Sharma of GGM Science College, Best Sahityakar- Goldi Sharma of Govt. College of Education.
Sushmita Banerjee of GCW Gandhi Nagar was declared overall best performer in YuvTarang 2018.
GGM Science College received the Runners up Trophy and GCW Gandhi Nagar was declared the overall winner in YuvTarang 2018.
Prof Poonam Dhawan, Dean Academics Affairs, Dr Jatinder Khajuria, Registrar, Controller Examination, Deans of various schools, CLUJ, Principals of Constituent colleges, President CTA, Distinguished Academia from University of Jammu, Teaching Faculty from colleges, Prominent Media Heads and students graced the occasion.
Prof Aekta Gupta, Cultural Coordinator gave a brief report of the events. The programme was compeered by Prof Banpreet Kour and assisted by Seerat Baji of GCW Gandhi Nagar and Manya Langer of Govt. MAM College.
The Contest was coordinated by Prof Renu Nanda, Prof Baljinder Kour, Prof Sandhya Sankhyadhar and Prof Savita Jamwal, Conveners, Cultural Committees of the constituent colleges.
Dr Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare CLUJ delivered the formal vote of thanks.
