Yudhvir Sethi takes up migrants’ issues with RRC, seeks redressal

JAMMU, Aug 5: BJP senior vice president, Yudhvir Sethi today called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (RRC) M L Raina and apprised him of issues concerning migrant employees working in different Government departments in Kashmir and particularly in Baramulla. After deliberations the officer assured that work on all their basic needs as mentioned will be taken up next month.
Yudhvir Sethi said that during his recent visit to Baramulla migrant camp where PM package employees are putting up.  He met and even visited migrant employees quarters and found some shortcomings including water storage capacity of tanks that needs improvement. The employees had also apprised him of laying new flooring, setting the sewerage right, providing adequate potable water, installing water purifiers and most importantly carrying out repair work on quarters that are in dilapidated condition.
Yudhvir Sethi said that Kashmiri Pandit migrant employees working in the Valley are brand ambassadors and serving a great cause of economic as well as social wellbeing of Kashmir. There should be no let up in addressing their minimum required issues.
The BJP leader also informed that by being in Kashmir and living with their neighbors in harmony the migrant employees have not only strengthened economy of Kashmir but also enhanced bond between different sections of society.
He also informed the Relief Commissioner that comfortable stay of Kashmiri migrants in the Valley is biggest ever Confidence Building Measure (CBM) the credit for which goes to all sections of society and State it becomes duty of State Government to provide them all possible assistance and infrastructure.
He said, the employees are also working as bridge and sending a strong message that Kashmir is known for peace and prosperity for which we need to take very good care of their basic needs.
