Youth Welfare Committee formed for promoting communal harmony

JAMMU, Sept 30: With the aim of spreading communal harmony among the youth belonging to different religions, a non-political organization was today formed by some educated youth of Jammu.
Headed by Sandeep Singh Wazir as its president, the body has been christened as Youth Welfare Committee with an objective to fight against social evils, highlight grievances of commoners, particularly poor and need besides working for strengthening communal harmony.
While announcing the launch of Youth Welfare Committee during a press conference, here today, Sandeep Singh said that a large number of youth were coming forward for their registration as volunteers with the organization.
“The committee will be organizing a series of events, like blood donation camps, community kitchen etc, particularly on different religious occasions,” he informed adding that a grand Linger in this connection is being organized at Bade Wail Mata tomorrow on the pious occasion of Ashtami.
“This langar will be prepared and served exclusively by the Sikh and Muslim members of our committee while similar gesture would be shown by Hindu youth during Eid and Gurupurab,” Sandeep Singh said.
On the occasion, core committee members of the committee were also announced. They include Rajesh Bhau & Manuj Sharma (vice presidents), Satvinder Singh (general secretary), Kuldeep Jamwal (secretary), Harminder Singh (organizing secretary) and Kapil Sushil.
All of them were present in the press conference.
