JAMMU, Jan 25: A youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Mandal area, falling under the jurisdiction of Phylain Mandal police post.
As per police sources, 23-year-old John Francis, son of George Frank of Mandal allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a fan hook at his residence last evening.
On getting information about the incident today, police team from Phylian Mandal police post led by SI Sumit Magotra rushed to the spot and took the body in their custody, when the family members were taking the body for burial without informing police.
The body was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) by police, where after autopsy, the body was handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Phylian Mandal police post and investigation started.
