Youth arrested for attacking shopkeeper, two still at large

JAMMU, Mar 15: Police arrested a youth for attacking a shopkeeper in Exchange Road area, falling under the jurisdiction of Pacca Danga police station.
As per police spokesman, on March 13, three miscreants including Supreet Singh alias Raha, son of Davinder Singh attacked a shopkeeper namely Inderjit Singh alias Honey in front of his shop at Exchange Road with a sword. Supreet also fired a gun shot on the shopkeeper, which got missed. The accused persons escaped from the spot when people raised hue and cry.
The injured shopkeeper was shifted to hospital for treatment.
A case in this regard was registered at Pacca Danga police station and manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
During the course of investigation, an information was generated that one of the three absconding accused namely Supreet Singh alias Raja was seen in Dogra Hall area.
Acting over the information, a police team conducted raid and apprehended the main accused Supreet Singh alongwith weapon of offence (desi pistol) today. Supreet is also involved in many other criminal cases. The search for remaining two accused is going on.
Police team led by SDPO City Vivek Shekhar and assisted by SHO Pacca Danga SI Dheeraj Nagpal and Incharge Parade police post SI Deepak Katoch made the arrest under the supervision of SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
