This has reference to news item regarding sanctioning of Rs 83.73 crore by CSMC for Mantalai in DE September 24, 2016.
It is a welcome decision. Hats off to the Government. Locals are very happy to read the news item under which the detailed information about the allocation of funds under various sub heads of the project has been given. Since Mantalai is a heritage village and history of the same also needs to be drawn in correct perspective. A Thermolumnisence Test (TL ) is required to be conducted in a laboratory through the ASI respecting broken pottery (clay artifacts) held in a mound near air strip so as to assess the dating for the same. The test hardly needs any much funds allocation and there would be no extra financial burden on the exchequer. ASI Jammu may take the cognizance of it and carry out the dating test as requested.
