POONCH, Feb 28: Defeating Glamorous Cricket Club by 22 runs in the summit clash, YCC lifted the title trophy of the Poonch District Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, organized by Tennis Ball Cricket Association, here.
Earlier, batting first, YCC scored a good total of 102 runs. Shahzad Muneer and Amandeep Singh scored 29 and 21 runs to the total respectively. For Glamorous Club, Rupinder and Gurvinder claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Glamorous Club managed to score 80 runs by losing all their wickets, thus lost the match by 22 runs. Rashab (20) and Sachin (18) were the main scorers For YCC, Muneer and Asif took 2 wickets each, while Shammi and Rocky claimed one each.
SSP Poonch, Rajeev Pandey was the chief guest on the occasion, who presented man of the match award to Shahzad Muneer and man of the series award to Amandeep Singh, besides winners and runners-up trophies to the teams.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Poonch lauded the efforts of the organizers in holding the championship to promote sports.
