When we got specific input about three terrorists of Jaish are hiding in a cave in the forests of Satura village, we launched the operation during the night and this hideout was overlooking the village and it took us one and a half hour to climb the hill”, he said.
“We did speculative firing to see if there are any terrorists in the area. And as we fired within 5 minutes, a terrorist came out firing and fled towards Nallah. It took us five minutes to neturalise him and first terrorist was dead by 7 a.m”, he said.
“Then we got an intercept that one local militant of the village is hiding in the cave and we got men form Territorial Army and made an announcement to come out and surrender. For two hours, there was no response and we thought that they are discussing the surrender offer. But they fired on us and in the encounter we killed both of them. This operation lasted for 8 hours”, Brigadier Chakraborty said.
