JAMMU, June 28: The Medical Board, constituted by Government Medical College (GMC) Principal Dr Zahid H Gillani for examining Yasir Alfaz, an accused in desecration of ‘Aap Shambu’ temple at Roop Nagar, was today modified for second time before it conducted medical examination of Yasir at Police Hospital, Jammu.
It was the third Medical Board, which finally conducted the medical examination of Yasir at Police Hospital. The original Board, set up by the Principal, had been modified earlier also.
The Medical Board, which finally examined Yasir today, comprised Dr BN Bhougal (and Dr Gurmeet Singh (Medicines), Dr BR Kundal (Neurologist), Dr Rakesh Banal and Dr Rameshwar Singh (Psychiatrists), Dr Arif Vikar, (Forensic Medicines) and Dr Shahid Hussain (Community Medicines).
Sources said venue of the Medical Board was changed from the GMC Jammu to Police Hospital as activists of some organizations had started gathering outside the hospital. Authorities then shifted the venue of medical examination of Yasir to Police Hospital.
They added that the doctors have conducted the medical and would give their report on ‘mental health’ of Yasir, a resident of Shiva, Doda, in next couple of days.
The medical of Yasir was earlier also deferred as activists of some organizations had gathered outside the hospital on getting reports that he was being brought there for medical examination.
Yasir had desecrated the ancient temple at Roop Nagar, Janipura on June 14, leading to massive protests.
