JAMMU, May 13: Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) has served an ultimatum to the Government that if the genuine demands which are contained in its vision document are not settled and appointment orders regarding 221 pending cases under PM package are not issued soon it will launch the agitation.
Talking to reporters here, today YAIKS president R K Bhat accused the Government of total betrayal. He said the KP youth played a vital role and initiated a return move to Valley in 2010 by volunteering themselves to serve in Kashmir valley for national interest and for restoration of Kashmiriyat, composite culture and to revive the spirit of co-existence with the expectations that the Government will fully cooperate with these youth and take care of all their problems. But it is quite unfortunate to mention that the sufferings of the hapless youth increased day by day rather than being mitigated by the Government, he added.
Bhat, while taking a strong exception to the callousness of successive Governments towards the plight of displaced Pandits from Valley said “now enough is enough” and community youth will not tolerate this any more as it seems that the Government is not at all interested in the return of KPs.
Accusing the Government of misleading the community and taking wrong advantage of their plight and exploiting them on the name of national interests, Bhat alleged that Government has no concrete policy on the return and rehabilitation of displaced Pandtis in Valley.
While sharing the seven year long experience of employees who were appointed under PM’s employment package in 2010 Bhat said they have been always suppressed and live under fear psychosis.
He said the present scenario and disturbances in Kashmir valley pose new challenges for the minorities and in particular for Valley posted migrant employees who serve in Kashmir for national interests. The Kashmiri Pandit employees are caught between devil and deep sea under this situation, he added.
Demanding resolution of migrants problems once for all, he warned that if any untoward happens with migrant employees, the Government will be held responsible for the same.
Questioning the Government’s claims about the honorable and dignified return of displaced Pandits to Valley, he said when it could not provide security to 2000 PM package employees how could it ensure security of lakhs of migrant Pandits on their return to Valley.
Bhat demanded that the entire process of employees’ rehabilitation in Kashmir be reviewed after holding a serious dialogue with concerned representatives of the community.
B K Bhat, Sunil Koul, vice presidents YAIKS, Manoj Handoo, its general secretary, Sanjay Ganjoo and Ajay Safaya, secretary, Sunil Dhar, Ajay Koul, Sunil Bhat, Deepak Koul and others were present in the press conference.
