JAMMU, Sept 30: S&O XI and Purchase Circle team registered convincing victories over their rivals in PDD Premier League T20 2017 Cricket Cup, which got underway at Green Field, Gandhi Nagar, here.
In the first match, S&O XI thrashed ED-I XI by a big margin of 78 runs in an easy contest. Manoj played a brilliant innings of 78 runs off 52 balls, studded with 6 fours and 4 sixes, while Ankush and Iqbal chipped in with 18 runs each. From ED-I XI Bunty and Aman took 2 wickets each.
In reply, ED-I XI bundled out for a paltry total of 68 runs in 17.4 overs. Amit and Bunty contributed 24 and 13 runs respectively. From S&O team, Iqbal took 3 important wickets, while Ajeet claimed 2 wickets.
In another match played today, Purchase Circle XI got the better of EM & RE Division by 42 runs.
Batting first, Purchase Circle scored a big total of 175 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Vikas Sangra top scored with 68 runs off 41 balls including 5 fours and 5 sixes, while Sumit Puri and Hiteshwar also chipped in with 17 and 12 runs respectively. From EM&RE Division, Tinku and Gurdeep claimed 2 wickets each.
EM&RE Division, in reply managed to score 133 runs by losing 6 wickets, thus lost the match by 42 runs. Munish Chib scored power-packed 68 runs off 35 balls, studded with 10 fours and 3 massive sixes. Tinku also contributed 21 runs to the total. Sumit Puri was the wrecker-in-chief for EM&RE Division, who scalped 4 important wickets, while Ritnesh and Arun claimed 2 wickets each.
