World Health Day observed across Jammu province

Health Minister Shabir Ahmed Khan and Dr. Madhu Khullar, Director Health Services during a function at Lawrence Public School, Sidhra on Sunday.

JAMMU, Apr 7: World Health Day was observed across Jammu province with enthusiasm and zeal.
Lawrence Public School, Sidhra and Directorate of Health Services jointly observed World Health Day with enthusiasm.
On the occasion, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Minister for Health was the chief guest, while Rajesh Kumar, Inspector General of Police (IGP) was the guest of honour.
Minister inaugurated a free medical camp in the school in presence of MM Joshi, Chairman of the school, Shakuntla Joshi, Principal, Madhu Khullar, Director Health and SP Varma.
Shivani Joshi presented the welcome address and informed about the theme of the programme “Hypertension and Blood Pressure Related Problems”.
On the occasion, students presented various cultural items.
While speaking, Shabir Ahmed Khan appealed to the society to work hard in hand with the Government departments in order to make India a healthy nation.
Among others present were Joint Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation Kapil Sharma, Major General Gowardhan Singh Jamwal, Abdul Majid Malik, senior officials of the Health Department and faculty members.
A camp was organized on the eve of “World Health Day” by the incharge Block Medical Officer, Marh Dr Keerti Bhushan Sharma at Sub District Hospital (SDH), Marh. MLA Sukhnandan Choudhary was the chief guest, who inaugurated the camp. Over 100 patients were examined of hypertension and diabetes by the team of doctors including Dr Vinay Khajuria, Dr IP Singh and Dr Abhineet Suri, who were assisted by doctors and paramedics of SDH Marh.
An interactive session was organized to observe the “World Health Day” at PHC, Dansal, in which citizens, sarpanchs, health staff, ASHA workers participated. While speaking, Dr Sumir Kaul, BMO Dansal discussed about the various dangerous diseases including blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, etc. About 225 people were screened for HBP by BMO and Dr MY Khan, Medical Officer, PHC Dansal.
An awareness camp on “Hypertension known as High Blood Pressure” was organized by District Information Office, Kargil to observe “World Health Day” at training hall, CMO office complex, Kargil, in which Deputy CMO, BMOs, Pharmacist, ANMs, ASHA workers and students took part. Hassan Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, was the chief guest. Dr Nazir Ahmed and Dr Sajjd Hussain threw light on the topic.
