Workshop on plaster techniques organized at ASCOMS & Hospital

JAMMU, July 9: Rural and Social Orthopaedic Wing of Indian Orthopaedics Association (IOA) in collaboration with J&K Orthopaedics Association and Department of Orthopaedics, Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Sidhra, Jammu organized the 1st workshop on plaster techniques in ASCOMS and Hospital.
In the recent times the application of plastering techniques for treatment of fracture is a forgotten art by majority of Orthopaedics Surgeons and the most of orthopaedicians are now resorting to surgery for treatment of most of the fracture cases.
To again revive this art of plastering techniques the Rural and Social Orthopaedics Wing of IOA has taken the responsibility under the chairmanship of Dr Rajesh Gupta (Prof & Head, Orthopaedics, ASCOMS Hospital) for conducting 5 to 6 workshops in a year all over India. This was the first ever workshop on plastering techniques.
About 100 orthopaedic surgeons and postgraduates from all over the State attended the workshop.  The session was inaugurated with lighting the lamp by D K Batra, Joint Secretary, ASCOMS Hospital, along with Dr Pavan Malhotra (Director Principal, ASCOMS Hospital), Dr D K Taneja, Dr Sameer Gupta, Dr Deedar Singh, Dr V M Soodan and Dr Rajesh Gupta.
The session started with scientific presentations by the faculty followed by workshop on plastering techniques. There was lot of interaction amongst the faculty members and delegates.
The session ended with presentation of mementos to the faculty and vote of thanks by Dr Rajesh Gupta, organizing secretary for the workshop.
