Jammu, Jan 15: Jammu Trauma Society today conducted a workshop on management of Pelvis and hip fractures.
More than 60 Orthopedic surgeons from the region participated and learned about the latest techniques of management of these fractures.
Workshop was conducted by Dr Ramesh Sen and Dr. Sameer Aggarwal from Chandigarh and Dr Rakesh Rajput from Kolkata.
Workshop began with inauguration by Principal GMC, Dr Zahid Gilani and Dr. Romesh Gupta, MS, GMC.
Dr. Anil Gupta, course chairperson, welcomed the delegates and outlined the programme. Delegates were trained on bone models mimicking real life situations.
Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, organising secretary of the workshop informed that after being trained in this workshop more orthopedic surgeons will be able to manage complex fractures of pelvis bone. Doctors were trained on prehospital and in hospital management of these complex fractures.
Dr. Abdul Ghani, Co-organisor of the workshop gave vote of thanks.
In the evening, another CME was held on total knee Arthroplasty which was also attended by more than 50 orthopedic surgeons.
It is pertinent to mention that all kinds of orthopedic surgeries are being done at Jammu, GMC being the major service provider in the Jammu Province region.
