Workshop held on NDPS cases by Udhampur police

UDHAMPUR, Nov 14: District Police Udhampur today organised a comprehensive workshop on the pace of registration and quality disposal of NDPS cases registered in police stations of district Udhampur.
All the participants were made aware about the level of action required to be taken against those involved in spreading the menace of drug addiction in society, Additional SP Udhampur Faisal Qureshi said.
He added that all territorial officers were directed to ensure registration of drug related offences and ensuring quality disposal of all the cases utilizing modern techniques of investigation and taking the assistance of prosecution wing so that the real culprits are booked and strongly prosecuted under law.
He laid emphasis on ensuring zero tolerance for prosecution failures due to technicalities.
Proper procedural formalities, list of Do’s and Dont’s, checklist for investigators, sampling procedures and speed, study of past cases, and status of present cases, brainstorming for solutions and best practices were among the topics taken up during the workshop.
The meeting was chaired by Nodal Officer of NDPS cases of district Additional SP Udhampur Faisal Qureshi. It was attended by all SDPOs, SHOs and Incharge PPs of Udhampur.
The meeting was held under nder the directions of SSP Udhampur Rayees Bhat.
