Workshop on Computer Networking and Routing Protocols held at JU

JAMMU, Nov 22: Two- day workshop on Computer Networking & Routing Protocols, organized by the Department of Computer Science and IT, University of Jammu,  in collaboration with NetLab Project Consultants Private Ltd, Chennai, concluded today.
The workshop was organized with an objective to make the participants familiar with the latest concepts and technologies of routing protocols by providing hands on experience in the arena of computer networking and network security.  Around fifty participants including teachers, technical staff, scholars and students attended the workshop
Prof R D Sharma, Vice Chancellor JU, who was chief guest in the valedictory session, distributed certificates to the participants and expressed his satisfaction over the overwhelming response of participants. He also advised the participants to channelize their interest and energy in such activities.
Prof Vibhakar Mansotra, Head of the Department of Computer Science and IT, apprised the gathering about the importance of such workshops in their academic growth. He emphasized that such academic events are equally important in the academic career of the students as the practical exposure to high end technology adds much more competence to the theoretical knowledge imparted in the class rooms.
Dr Pawanesh Abrol coordinated the workshop and made all necessary efforts for the smooth conduct of the workshop.
The resource persons for the workshop were invited from the NetLab Project Consultants Ltd, Chennai, a leading company engaged in research and consultancy in various areas of networking, routing protocols, and network security issues.
Radha Suresh the Director operations and A K Asokan, Director Technical were the main resource persons for the workshop.
