PULWAMA, Oct 30: While announcing to contest Assembly election as an independent candidate in the forthcoming Assembly elections going to be held on December 9, expelled PDP leader and MLA Rajpora, Syed Bashir, today said the decision was taken by him after many elderly and renowned people along with the workers from his constituency insisted him to contest.
Syed Bashir was addressing a workers convention at his native village Sheikhar in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Rubbishing the allegations that he was engaged in anti-party activities, he said, “I have remained a party loyalist all the time.”
In the convention many party workers from PDP including zonal president, Ghulam Hassan announced resignations and burnt PDP identity cards.
After announcement of contesting the elections, Syed Bashir alleged that PDP workers in his constituency would indulge in buying votes but would not be able to do so as his workers have always shown faith on him.
He even alleged that the party was not fair in distributing relief to the people and discriminated with those who deserved it the most.
“Relief packets which were to be air dropped to flood victims were distributed in villages where there was no flooding,” he said, adding that his constituency was least affected by the floods.
