JAMMU, Jan 11: In a move to check the ‘brain drain’ from the State, Minister for Technical Education Molvi Imran Raza Ansari today asked the State Board of Technical Education (SBOTE) to create a format for admitting students against available seats in State’s technical institutions.
Speaking at a meeting, the Minister said education of youth is essential for creating qualified workforce who will play prime role in the growth of state and support the functioning of state’s technical and education sector.
The Minister said that the State Government is taking all necessary measures to improve future and career of the youth.
Responding to the reports that at present only 40 percent of admission quota has been filled by Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) in State institutions, the Minister directed the SBOTE officials to devise a way to fill all the vacant seats in these institutions.
To address the issue in view of the Supreme Court’s guidelines for admitting students under Management and State quota by government and private polytechnics, the Minister directed Secretary SBOTE to sort out the issue at the earliest so that no student suffers on account of non-registration by SBOTE.
