JAMMU, Jan 29: Sanjeevani Shardha Kendra, Bohri, Jammu, organized an impressive and well attended function on ‘A Tribute to the Martyrs of 1947-48’ at Shardha Bhawan, Bohri, here today.
The function was organized to pay homage to the Martyrs of the displaced community, who had sacrificed their lives by becoming victims to not only the sinister and brutal designs of ‘Kabalis’, but also to their barbaric and satanic acts, way back in the year 1947-48
Minister for Health, Bali Bhagat was the chief guest on the occasion, while eminent scholar Dr KN Pandita presided over the function.
Member Legislative Council (MLC), Surinder Ambardar and Director Panchayati Raj, Ravinder Kumar Bhat were the guests of honour.
While addressing a large gathering of scholars, senior citizens and the youth of the community in particular, the Health Minister appreciated the organizers for holding an important programme, with regard to paying homage to the Martyrs of the community.
Describing ‘Kabalis’ as ‘Animals in Men’, Bali Bhagat termed 1947-48′ Kabali Raid’ as the blackest phase in State’s history.
Appealing the Pandit Community to be united, the Minister said that the time was ripe to work as a cohesive unit and defeat the nefarious designs of the Separatist Forces to see India blossom with peace and prosperity.
The Minister also congratulated think-tank of Pandit Community, Dr K N Pandita for being chosen for prestigious Padmashri Award and described him as a moving institution.
He said that separatists are always busy in spitting venom but their plans only work against the communities in minorities, adding that it was because of the same reason that the anti-national forces succeeded in their mission of threatening minority community in Valley and forcing its mass exodus in 1990.
The chief guest also inaugurated Sanjeevani Medical Services (Dispensary) on the occasion and assured the organisers of all help for its betterment and upgrading.
He said that it was because of the similar initiatives, one presently witnesses polio free India.
MLC Surinder Ambardar while speaking on the occasion said that it is the time for community youth to opt IAS, Mass Communication, IPS and other such streams, rather than aspiring for Engineering and MBBS only.
He said that the community youth despite being scattered around 150 country’s all over the world, has the distinction of having no criminal record.
Quoting example of KP lady, who has been elected as Ward Member in Gujarat, Ambardar said that the Pandits have the potential of excelling in any corner of the world.
Padmashri Dr KN Pandita while addressing the gathering said that the prestigious award he has been conferred is the award of entire community and the State as well.
He said it is the Pandits, who have time and again nullified the tactics and jaundiced polities of the Separatist Forces and their mission to keep them always on back-foot.
Ravinder Kumar Bhat while speaking on the occasion said that most of the community brethren came to know as to whether KPs lived in far-flung areas of Valley after their mass exodus only.
Kaushaliya Wati, wife of Late Pt Amar Nath Bhat of Village Tikker Kupwara-the eye witness of ‘Kabali Raid’ also gave vent to her feelings on the occasion. She made the audience to weep after narrating the state of events during ‘Kabali Raid’ .
