Won’t allow execution of power projects without safeguarding locals’ interests: Kichloo

KISHTWAR, July 15: Former Minister of State for Home and National Conference MLC from Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today said that his party will not allow the execution of any upcoming power projects in Kishtwar district without safeguarding the interest of locals.
He added that the PDP-BJP Government is befooling the project affected families in the name of Rehabilitation Plan wherein the genuine and deserving rights of the people are being robbed by pursuing pressure tactics and blackmailing the land owners.
While addressing a series of public meetings during his extensive tour of Nagsini area including Dool, Padyarna, Kwar, Keruu, Bagna, Kichloo launched a scathing attack on coalition Government. He said that the Government has failed in fulfilling the promises made by them with the people
The NC MLC assured the people that he and his party will stand firmly behind the locals as well as those whose land and property was acquired for construction of Kwar and Kerru power projects. He demanded land compensation to the affected people at par with market rates. He also called for ensuring regular jobs for land owners in NHPC and CVPPP.
The former Minister said that people are being forced by the administration to collect the nominal compensation and being threatened with legal action in case they refuse to accept the compensation, what is being given to them.
Kichloo warns the Government and the local administration and advice them to deceit from such tactics added that in case NC found any lacuna on the part of the Government, the party will hit the streets for safe guarding the interest of the locals. He said Government should maintain 80:20 job ratio in favour of locals added that NC will not allow to compromise with the jobs for local populace.
The NC MLC was accompanied by Mohammad Sharief Kelam, Abdul Gani Lone, Mohammad Asalam, Noor Mohammad, Mohammad Yousaf, Mohammad Qasim, Farooq Ahmed, Mohammad Hanief, Mushtaq Ahmed, Lekh Raj and others.
