Woman murdered, BSF deserter held

BHADERWAH, Feb 8: A woman was murdered in Batoli area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bhaderwah police station. However, acting swiftly, police arrested two persons including a BSF deserter.
As per police sources, during the intervening night of January 7 and 8, two brothers namely Ram Kumar alias Bittu and Sanjay Kumar, both sons of Faqir Chand of Bhatoli, tehsil Bhalla along with Mukesh Kumar, son of Lekh Raj of Panshaie, at present Bhatoli barged into the house of Nehal Chand, son of Sukhdev of Batholi and had argument over some old issue with Nehal’s family.
In the fit of rage, Ram, Sanjay and Mukesh attacked the family with sharp edged weapons in which wife of Nehal Chand namely Shakuntla Devi received grievous injuries and died on the spot, while Nehal and his son namely Chain Singh received injuries.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to hospital, where the condition of the injured persons was stated to be out of danger, when reports last came in.
The body of the deceased lady was handed over to family members after completing medical and legal formalities.
A case under FIR Number 12/16 under sections 302, 307 and 458/34 RPC was registered at police station Bhaderwah and manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
On specific information, police team arrested the accused persons namely Ram Kumar and Mukesh Kumar from the nearby forest area in Batholi. However, search was going on to arrest the third accused.
It is to mention that, the main accused Ram Kumar is a BSF deserter and was involved in various heinous crimes.
