Woman killed, seven injured in mishaps

Srinagar, May 19: Police today said a woman was killed and seven others were injured in separate road accidents across the Kashmir.
A police spokesman said an unknown motorcycle hit a lady namely Shamali at DH Pora in Kulgam district. The injured was shifted to Bone and Joints Hospital, Srinagar for treatment where she succumbed to her injuries, he said, adding that after completion of medico legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.
The spokesman said a motorcycle driven by Aijaz Ahmad Lone collided with a school van bearing registration number JK18A-5114 of Noorani Public School Zangalpora at Devsar near Petrol Pump in Kulgam district, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist. The injured was shifted to District Hospital Kulgam for treatment, he said, adding that police have registered a case in this regard.
The spokesman said a passenger vehicle bearing registration number JK04A-7905 collided with a tipper bearing registration number JK04A-6989 at Budgam near Choon Crossing in the district, resulting in injuries to two lady passengers. Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment, he said and added that police have registered a case in this regard.
The spokesman said a Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number JK05C/7914 driven by Mohammad Ramzan Shah collided with scooty bearing registration number JK05E/8394 at Sangri Watlab in Sopore area of Baramulla district, resulting in injuries to scooty rider namely Muzaffar Ahmad Kabari and pillion mate namely Ishaq Ahmad Khan.
“Both the injured were shifted Sub District Hospital Sopore for treatment where from scooty rider was shifted to Bone and Joints Hospital Srinagar for further treatment,” he said, adding that police have registered a case in this regard.
The spokesman said that a sumo bearing registration number JK05D-8019  turned turtle at Gurez road near Peer Baba in Pethkote area of Bandipora district, resulting in injuries to a lady namely Rukhsana. The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital Bandipora for treatment, he said, adding that police have registered a case in this regard.
The spokesman said a Swift vehicle bearing registration number DL2C-AK/6629 driven by Zahid-ul-Hassan Malik hit and injured a child namely Sheikh Suhaib at National Highway in Drugmulla area of Kupwara district. The injured was shifted to District Hospital Kupwara, where from he was shifted to Bone and Joints Hospital Srinagar for further treatment, he said, adding that police have registered a case in this regard.
