Woman donates Rs 45 lakh alimony amount to Swachh Bharat Kosh

JAMMU, Mar 7: A woman from Jammu has donated an amount of Rs 45 lakh to Swachh Bharat Kosh, Department of Expenditure, Union Ministry of Finance.
The woman identified as Dr Megha Mahajan daughter of late Kewal Gupta, resident of House No 1765 F, Last Morh, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, is a dental surgeon by profession and provided her service as a volunteer in Doodhadhari Hospital, Haridwar for many years.
“I am a big fan of our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who has a vision of ‘Clean India’. His selfless initiative of launching ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ inspired me to donate such a big amount to Swachh Bharat Kosh”, Dr Megha Mahajan said.
She disclosed that recently she got separated from her husband after a long fight of about 6 years in the court of law and got Rs 45 lakh as alimony from him. “I want to use this money for a good cause and therefore I decided to donate the entire amount for Swachh Bharat Mission of Government of India”, Dr Mahajan added.
Dr Megha further added that another reason for donating the entire amount of alimony was to show that she has no greed for money. “I fight against injustice meted out to me by my in-laws but had never any greed for money, so I donated entire amount to Swachh Bharat Kosh”, she added.
