MENDHAR, Dec 19: A middle-aged woman died of burn injuries under mysterious circumstances at her residence at village Pathana Teer in Mendhar Sub Division today.
A police spokesman said that 44-year old Rakeeza Begum, wife of Manzoor Hussain, resident of Pathana Teer died at her residence this evening after she got engulfed in fire. The family members alleged that she poured kerosene oil on her body and set herself afire after minor tiff.
Officiating SPDO Mendhar, Sheezan Bhat said that after receiving information a police party was rushed to the village and the body is being brought to Mendhar hospital for postmortem. He said that inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC have been initiated in this connection.
