Woman beaten to death by husband

KATHUA, Aug 23: A young woman was beaten to death by her husband during last night in presence of her two children in village Mahanpur in Basholi tehsil of Kathua district.
The murderer fled after committing the crime and Basholi police has launched a manhunt to arrest him.
As per reports Rajinder Kumar, son of Thakur Dass of village Mahanpur beat his wife, Kiran Devi 23 mercilessly late last night in presence of their two kids and inflicted serious injuries on her person resulting in her instant death.
The accused fled from the scene after committing the crime. However his father, Thakur Dass informed the Police about the murder after his son committed the crime.
Thakur Dass informed the police that his drunken son beat his wife Kiran Devi to death last night after a verbal duel took place between them. The two children of the couple including their three year old son and five year old daughter were also present in the room at the time of the episode. He said the family was witness to whole episode. The other family members also ran to Rajinder’s house after listening the noise but it was too late as the woman had died by then of serious injuries, he added.
A police team led by SHO Basholi, Anil Sharma rushed to spot and collected evidence. Police also recorded statements of other family members. The body of deceased was shifted to Basholi Hospital for postpartum and later handed over to her brother Jatinder Singh for last rites.
The three year old son who was in terrible condition after seeing the tragic scene said “my father Rajinder has beaten up my mother by giving blows and buts and later he also attacked her with stick,. He was dead drunk and he always quarreled with her and was beating her daily”.
The SHO Basholi Anil Sharma said that police has started investigation into the matter and also recorded the statement of family members. The accused is so far absconding but will be arrested soon. The police registered a case under FIR No 57/18 under Section 302 RPC and launched manhunt to nab the accused. The police is working on all aspect of cause of murder, he added.
