JAMMU, Sept 27: Two persons including a woman have been arrested along with illicit liquor from village Tara Chak, falling under the jurisdiction of Arnia Police Station.
As per police sources, based on specific information, a police team led by SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal conducted raid in village Tara Chak and apprehended two persons including a woman, who were selling illicit liquor openly near their houses.
The arrested persons have been identified as Sansar Chand, son of Joginder Lal and Vimla Devi, wife of Sham Lal, both residents of village Tara Chak.
Four litres refined illicit liquor and 14 illicit liquor pouches were recovered from their possession. Around 200 litres of lahan and utensils used to manufacture illicit liquor were also destroyed on the spot.
A case under FIR Number 93/17 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Arnia and investigation started.
