Srinagar, Apr 1: A woman today alleged molestation by an official of Rural Development Department (RDD) in Kalaroos Block of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.The woman hailing from Thayen village of Kalaroos area of Lolab alleged that the official of RDD molested her after she went to the Block office for some work related to compensation.
“I went to Block office on March 20 for some work related to compensation but the official present there abused me and molested me,” she alleged. However she said she ran from the spot.
The woman said that they subsequently went to a court for justice in this regard following which the court directed the police to lodge an FIR against the accused. An FIR under No 16/2017 under Section 354, 506 RPC has been registered.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SP) Kupwara, Shamsher Hussain said he will talk to the Station House Officer (SHO) in this regard to investigate the matter. The woman however alleged that the accused is roaming freely and she’s being forced to withdraw the complaint.
