Srinagar, Aug 29: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today said that to accomplish the “Mission 44+” in the State, the party is ready to accommodate any one who is ready to work within their “framework”.
“We don’t consider anybody untouchable, whosoever, is ready to join our party for “Mission 44+” he is welcome. We will give mandates to those people who have worked at the grassroots and are nationalists,” BJP MLA Ashok Khajuria told reporters here.
Khajuria accused the National Conference (NC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of neglecting the public issues during the ongoing Assembly session.
“Assembly seems to have been made for Abdullah and Mufti families. These two families have turned the House into field to settle personal scores. We regret the way Assembly session is going on,” alleged Khajuria.
The BJP MLA also accused the Congress party of acting like a “gang” by changing its loyalties sometimes with PDP and sometimes with NC and said the party is a “threat” to the country. He said the party won’t discriminate or polarize any region of the State for their benefits in the upcoming elections.
“We assure that the party will not play politics based on caste, community or religion in any region of the State. We won’t play Hindu card in Jammu, Muslim card in Kashmir and Buddhist card in Ladakh,” he said in reply to a question about the polarization of people in the three regions in the upcoming elections.
Khajuria also lashed out at the National Conference and People’s Democratic Party, alleging that they felt happy when any security personnel was killed and offered condolences to when a militant is killed.
Khajuria avoided a direct reply to the question on the Legislative Council Thursday passing resolution urging New Delhi to talk with Pakistan.
“Pakistan is a terrorist State and there is no need to talk to them,” he replied.
On BJP national general secretary J P Nadda’s recent meeting with People’s Conference (PC) chairman Sajjad Lone, he said Parliamentary board will take a decision to accommodate such people.
Asked whether the party would repeat all its sitting legislators in the upcoming elections, he said the decision will be taken by the core group.
On PDP president Mehbooba Mufti criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jammu, he said the people who have flayed Modi have seen their downfall.
