KATHUA, Dec 4: A lady died while her husband was seriously injured after their bike was hit by a vehicle at Dayala Chak this afternoon.
Dead has been identified as Rajni Sharma, wife of Sat Pal of Sanyal, Hiranagar.
According to police husband wife duo who was on motor cycle when reached near Dayala Chak tried to take turn towards the link road but they were hit by a vehicle which came from behind. The scooter fell down and both of them were hit by the vehicle resulting in on spot death of Rajni Sharma while her husband received grievous injuries.
He has been referred to GMC Jammu where his condition is stated to be critical. The body of lady was handed over to family members after postmortem. The vehicle fled after the accident.
The police has launched the search for the vehicle but till last reports it could not trace it. However all police stations on NH have been informed about the vehicle.
The Hiranagar Police has registered a case under section 279/304 RPC in this regard.
