DODA, Feb 25: A widow allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river Chenab from newly constructed Ganpat bridge, here today.
As per police sources, a widow identified as Rekha Devi, daughter of Hari Lal, a resident of Mudsrunda Shiva area allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river Chenab from newly constructed Ganpat bridge near Pul Doda, here this evening.
After getting information, a police team rushed to the spot and started operation to fish out the body from the river. However, the search operation has been halted and will resume tomorrow morning.
A case in this regard has been registered at Doda police station and investigation started to ascertain the reason behind this extreme step.
