Whitney Houston documentary to be part of Hamptons Film Fest

LOS ANGELES, June 19:The ninth edition of the Hamptons International Film Festival’s SummerDocs series will screen five documentaries, including one about singer Whitney Houston, titled “Whitney: Can I Be Me?”.
The films will be screened from July 8-August 26.
Each screening will be followed by discussions with filmmakers and subjects led by HIFF co-chairman Alec Baldwin and HIFF artistic director David Nugent, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Other films in this year’s line-up are “Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press”, “Trophy”, “Take Every Wave: The Life of Laird Hamilton”, and “Icarus.”
“It’s HIFF’s 25th anniversary year and the ninth season of SummerDocs and we have a great lineup of documentary films, featuring intense drama and more entertaining fare,” Baldwin said in a statement.
“Artistic director David Nugent and I believe this will be one of the best SummerDoc seasons yet.” (PTI)
