Wheat strengthens on increased offtake

NEW DELHI, Dec 3: In restricted activity, wheat prices strengthened by Rs 20 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today due to increased offtake by flour mills.
However, other grains including rice basmati moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled at the last levels.
Traders said increased offtake by flour mills mainly kept wheat prices higher.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills)advanced by Rs 20 to Rs 2,100-2,105 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 2,115-2,120 per 90 kg.
