Wheat futures up on speculative buying

NEW DELHI, June 11: Wheat prices edged up by 0.17 per cent to Rs 1,795 per quintal in futures market today as speculators built up fresh positions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in July edged up by Rs 3, or 0.17 per cent to Rs 1,795 per quintal with an open interest of 7,110 lots.
Similarly, the wheat for delivery in June was up by Rs 2, or 0.11 per cent to Rs 1,778 per quintal in 3,840 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders following improved demand in the physical market and a pause in arrivals from producing belts influenced wheat prices. (PTI)
